How to Use This Site

Well, for starters, try searching for something you are interested in within the realm of theatre, film, and the performing arts! If something shows up, great... but it's probably not complete! Help your fellow thespians the world over by expanding the article, adding new sections, or starting articles for links in red, indicating that the author has deemed a link necessary, but no article for the link yet exists. Every little bit helps! If nothing shows up, click the link for "add this page." You can be the first to share your knowledge and experience on the subject.

You must register/log-in to edit pages.

New users are strongly advised to at least skim the [Page Editing], and [Formatting] sections of the user manual. Help is also available by posting on the [avthespians.org Forums] on the [DramaWiki help thread].

Please enjoy DramaWiki!

What is a Wiki?

A wiki is a user-generated collaborative encyclopedia of information on any number of subjects. The most famous is of course [Wikipedia.org]. The great part about a wiki is that multiple users can edit and expand upon each other's knowledge and experience to create a sum greater than its parts: a searchable database of information of common interest to all of the users, containing far more knowledge than any one person in the group possesses. Help us out by contributing a few tidbits every now and then!

The downside of the wiki is that erroneous information may be posted and taken as fact without any review or documentation. When stating obscure information, it is always best to provide citation whenever possible. And remember never to plagerize! Another factor to be wary of is that subjective topics can be interpreted multiple ways by different people; it is usually best to avoid sensitive topics altogether, or at the very least make a good faith attempt to present multiple sides of an issue. Sticking to documented and citable facts will help in this case as well.

Unfortunately, such a user-powered tool has the potential for abuse. Abusive users will not be tolerated. Information, including IP addresses, of computers and users visiting this site are logged, much like any other site on the internet. We will make every good faith and practical effort to keep a clean wiki, but in the end, users are responsible for their own content, and speak for no one but themselves.

You can always discuss and explore further with your fellow thespians at the [AV Thespians Forums], the independent discussion board for actors, staff, crew, and fans of theatre and the performing arts in the Antelope Valley, California.
